The nominees have barely been posted, but already Zeng Li has surged to an early lead among Asian nominees in PETA's annual "World's Sexiest Vegetarian" contest at PETAAsiaPacific.com. Zeng –who has appeared on the covers of Maxim, FHM and other magazines –is known as the queen of prime time TV. She has stared in several series, including the hit Love in the City and recently in The Liao’s and Zui Zhi Yuan Running close behind is pop star Faye Wong, who has made few public appearances of late but still has many fans voting for her. .

Other celebrities from around the world who've gone vegetarian to protect animals, the environment and their own health –and who are in hot pursuit of Zeng and Wong in the PETA poll –include actors Maggie Q, Milo Ventimiglia and Stephany Tang; singers Anthony Kiedis and Leona Lewis; pro basketball player Raja Bell of the Phoenix Suns; and celebrities Barbie Hsu and Yaya Meng.
